Circuit information

The French Grand Prix is held on the circuit near Nevers and Magny-Cours, approximately 250 kilometers south-east of Paris. The track was built in 1959 and renewed together with surrounding facilities only in the late 80's. The French Grand Prix is held in Magny-Cours since 1991 and became the centre of the French motorsport quickly.

The 4.4 kilometers long circuit has 17 turns (12 rights and 5 lefts) most of which are named after other Formula One circuits. The race track is an interesting mixture of fast and slow turns and fast straights though it does not provide too much opportunity for overtaking except in the Adelaide hairpin.
